"I called the UNLV staff a few
minutes ago and told them that I wanted to play for the Rebels,"
Adams said. "They were very happy because I was their top point
guard prospect and they were worried when I didn't commit after my
visit a few weeks ago.
I'm happy as well because it's really where I wanted to go all
along. I've been a UNLV fan since I saw their great teams in the
90's with Larry Johnson."
After officially visiting Las Vegas, Adams, who is rated as the
nation's 19th best prospect by Rivals.com, knew UNLV was his likely
destination.
I love the city of Las Vegas and I thought about committing while I
was there, but I wanted to make sure and see Arkansas," Adams said.
"I'm a city guy and there are a lot of cool things happening in Las
Vegas. I've been there several times and the atmospher! e it perfect
for me."
New UNLV head coach Lon Kruger also made a strong impression.
"UNLV is an up-and-coming program who is bringing in some really
good talent this year," Adams said. "Coach (Lon) Kruger is going to
do a great job there and he knows how to help players making it to
the next level.
"They really have the best of everything with the town, coaches and
I'll have the opportunity to play early. It was the best decision
for me and I'm really happy with UNLV."
Last season Adams averaged 34 points, eight assists, four rebounds
and four steals per game.
