Another hour, another commitment. That's how fast things
seem to be happening as players all over the state aren't
wasting any time making their college decisions known. The
latest to pledge to a college program is
Justin Reynolds. The athletic 6-foot-8, 235-pound
forward from Pearland High School had several options,
including one where he could follow in some family
footsteps. Instead, he'll blaze his own trail at a rising
Southland Conference power.

"I'm committed to Texas
A&M-Corpus Christi," Reynolds said. "I took a campus this
past weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and the coaches
there are really nice. I like the location too - it's close,
so my parents can come and see me play some games. It's a
program that's coming up and on the rise too."
Texas A&M - Corpus Christi was the first visit that Reynolds
took, and it's all he needed to make a decision after seeing
what the Islanders had to offer him both on and off the
court. "With education, they've got a top-notch business
program, which is what I want to major in," Reynolds said.
"In the long run, when I graduate they'll look at my degree
and it will say 'Texas A&M' on it."
In the end, Reynolds had considered Eastern Michigan, Texas
State, Howard, and others. He could have also made the
choice to go to the school where his father Billy is one of
the all-time greats. "I could have gone to Northwestern
State, where my dad did his thing over there," Reynolds
said. "But I didn't want to be compared to him."
Houston Elite forward who impressed this summer with his
athletic ability, tenacity on the boards, and willingness to
work, Reynolds knows he's still got a ways to go to get
ready for the next level. "I plan on spending time in the
weight room, so I can weigh a little more," Reynolds said.
"And I'm just going to keep on working hard and stay
hungry."
Texas Hoops Analysis: JUSTIN is a strong and solid
built player who will use his body for position on the low
block and to play defense. He is an aggressive rebounder,
keeps the ball high and looks to put back offensive boards
quickly. He is very strong with the ball on the block, has
strong moves to the hole, runs the floor well and competes
on defense. He is a good rebounder and shot blocker, has
long arms and is a lefty. He has improved his face up 10-12
footer, has good mobility and will need to improve his balls
skills from the elbow area.
